Passionate about Family and Belonging

In the woven tapestry of life, the priorities of education, family life and professional career development can thread from one to another over time. For me, I think I had sewn all three in one go! You see, in 1996-97 I had gotten married, gotten pregnant and completed my final BSc (hons) Degree exam on the day my waters broke! Seriously, it was one big thread nest of craziness.

Enough with the seamless metaphor pundits, it was a time of change, not only for my growing family of three children but also the collapse of the textile industry in the United Kingdom. With bills to pay, I diversified to the flexible schedule of the commercial grocery world applying my art and craftiness to baking and cake making designs; while continuing to apply my textile skills to countless garment creations and alterations before being whisked away to beautiful Canada, cold in temperature but filled with warm hearts!

We relocated from the United Kingdom with my family to Niverville, just outside of Winnipeg in 2010 where we obtained our permanent residency on November 27th, 2014.

As the children grew to become mature young adults, my attention once more looked to my textile professional career where in that same year, I started my part-time, at home business, making numerous garments from scratch from suits to dresses and jackets, completing a multitude of repairs and alterations. I am now fortunate enough to have taken this business into a full time career having the capacity to take on larger projects for the Manitoban community.
